Motorola Moto G 5G Plus is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful Basic apps like text and calls unresponsive. Often freezes for 10-30 seconds at a time. Must have a cover, slides off of tables and units without some form of cover. Often continues ringing after you've answered and throughout your call. Randomly unlocks without fingerprint.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Terrible but fast. Bought today in-store on sale for 200 down from 300 and it's just a mess of a phone and still overpriced imo. It has a few let downs, but the biggest by far is the BAD audio. It has terrible speaker placement, whoever designed this has done bad and should feel bad. The MONO speaker is to the right of the charging port at the bottom in portrait. It does get loud but is tinny and is usually muffled because your (my) finger naturally falls there. It also gets obstructed when sitting or laid back because...well because it's at the bottom. My crotch has been getting a better audio experience than my ears. Going into landscape mode for gaming and streaming films etc is even worse! No joke. When gaming the speaker is useless as it will be covered under an index finger. Having to constantly adjust how your phone is held just to hear its bean can quality is uncomfortable and impractical. If you play any games in landscape avoid this phone unless you want to sit with headphones on all day. Watching Netflix, YouTube etc the sound experience in landscape (the only way you'll watch anything) does improve slightly but only for whoever is sitting next to you. The dog egg speaker in landscape now blasts it's mighty mono straight out to the side and is very noticably louder to that sides ear. Could they not have blasted the mono straight at my face somewhere between my ears? -300 (200) phone and you'll find yourself cupping a hand round the speaker to bounce some sound back to you which is beyond reasonable and forces you to crank the volume up to a level everyone in your house/to the side of you will complain at. Battery - looks good on paper, a veritable beast for the budget but dont get too excited. Firstly it doesn't have the lit-pol battery as advertised, it's lit ion (cheaper to produce) Yes, you will be missold on the spec. Not a big deal to most maybe but the safety conscience may prefer the ion battery as advertised. The phone also heats noticeably and slows somewhat if you're charging whilst using the device because of the ion battery and "turbo" power fast charger. Turbo in this case means 20w and there's better out there so not a big selling point. Battery life so far is not impressive if you keep the phone set to the nice 90hz refresh rate. Even with low brightness settings the charge level has dropped 23% just writing this review. Dropping to 60hz massively improves the battery performance but who buys a 90hz display to watch it on 60hz eh. Not this sausage. Plus being the ion battery it can slowly discharge even while turned off so don't fall for the 5000mah hype, a charge won't last long at all. The snapdragon supplied is a slightly different version than advertised and is 0.63%(?) faster. It's not the most powerful by far but general device use and surfing feels rapid and responsive and actually really nice. Coupled with the refesh rate scrolling text is...good. it's actually a pretty fast feeling phone. Kudos Moto. Video playback has noticeable motion blur. The Moto G6 play from ages back had much smoother motions, and I find this panel difficult to watch during action scenes which make the 'high' pixel density and vibrant colour etc etc unimportant as the film already looks like kak even with the 90hz. It looks a lot like a low fps but applied only to things moving in the picture. Perhaps an inherrent problem with this type of lcd display? I don't know. Cameras. .......haaaaaahahaha. no. Just no. 4 on the back 2 on the front and they all suck. The higher the megapixel does not always mean better quality. They are poor performers adding extra cost to the phone and you'll be constantly underwhelmed....although the macro worked surprisingly well. If your hands tremble a lot/you breath often/exist at all, then you will definitely shake the camera whilst recording video. Image stabilisation is a dirty word apparently and is avoided at all costs in this phone. It's a fast phone that's shaped like a Yorkie bar and has 5g. I sincerely hope a refund is available. Terrible design, incorrect spec, unfit for purpose. I'd be fuming if I'd paid the full the 300, whereas for 200 I'm just glum.
