Vibrant display

Camera

Three times the precision

Capturing perfect shots will be the new norm with the Xperia XZ’s rear-facing 23MP camera with triple image sensing technology.

The imaging sensors cover movement, distance and colour. So whether you’re taking live action shots or colourful landscape captures, you can expect a crisp and clear picture quality.

Seamless selfies

Its wide-angle lens and front-facing 13MP camera, means you can add taking high-quality selfies to the Xperia XZ’s list of impressive features.

Under the hood

Smart charging

The Xperia XZ takes battery life to the next level with intelligent charging. The model uses innovative technology to pick up your charging patterns, then adapts them to your usage accordingly — giving the 2,900mAh battery up to twice its lifespan.

Speed and power

A 64-bit quad-core processor partnered with 3GB RAM puts both speed and power in the palm of your hand. Even with multiple apps running at once, you can expect a lightening-speed performance.

There’s also 32GB of internal storage for all your photos, songs and videos, but if that’s not enough you can add a microSD card of up to 256GB.

Water and dust-resistant

Just like the Xperia X and Z5, the XZ is dust-proof and water-resistant. Certified as IP68, the Xperia XZ will be safe in 1.5m of water for up to 30 minutes.

†Saving is based on a direct comparison of the total cost of ownership when bought from Carphone Warehouse £613.75 vs EE £973.75. Other features

Fingerprint sensor

The power button has a built-in fingerprint sensor, letting you save up to five prints for that extra level of security.

USB Type-C

The Xperia XZ uses USB Type-C, instead of the usual micro USB port. Type-C can transfer data much quicker, and charge up faster. It’s also completely symmetrical, so you won’t accidentally get it upside down when plugging in.

Sony Xperia XZ is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 26.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Frustrating after a few months Have had this phone now for 5 - 6 months. Previously I had an iPhone 5s and I wish I still had it. the camera is far superior to the iPhone. I got this phone to use as my business phone as I am self employed and to begin with it was great the the past month or so, as soon as the battery drops below 50% (which doesn't take long) the phone becomes frustrating slow and then freezes and crashes so I have to restart it and it still does not resolve the problem. I have found the phone also over heats below 50%. As soon as I can upgrade I'm going back to the iPhone, I really wanted to love moving away from Apple if this phone didn't have these issues (that I never had with Apple) I would love it. The phone is easy to use etc but just frustrating when it freezes and crashes.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not as good as its competitors Firstly the phone is great to look at and initially works well. However i find, now having the phone for a few months now it does seem to struggle and certainly doesn't live up to it's price range. Having upgraded from and S6 i would still take the older S6 (which my mum has now) over this. In recent weeks it crashes and restarts with me perhaps only going on Facebook or Instagram, only for me to then have to wait a few minutes for the app icons to reappear. The camera, which was shown to be brilliant and fast focusing, is far from that. As only a simple minded teenager i couldn't get the 'superior' focus to get any good photos of pets or on the surrounding. i found it was good for photos with mates but that was about it. Overall, at the price it is i couldn't recommend as it seems inferior to it's competitors, and would have exchanged it had the problems occurred earlier and how i found out it's not pleasant to live with, with it's dreadful battery and it's bang average finger print sensor (which doesn't work after going to the gym or getting out of the shower, as your fingers are damp).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best phones I've had! I have had many phones over the years. I ventured away from Sony after my Z3 got a little worse for wear after its 2.5 year life span. I have had iPhone 6's and a Samsung Galaxy s7 Edge and now I'm coming back to the Sony side! The phone is very user friendly and I feel the camera is brilliant for a smartphone, especially compared to the iPhone. The screen is clear and crisp, despite not being the best on the market, is still looks vibrant and brilliant! I would recommend this product to anyone who was looking for a smart looking, solid built smartphone. However, this is personal preference, so no hard feelings.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good phone I upgraded from my Xperia Z2 to this and I don't regret my decision. The phone is elegant and feels classy and great with great features such as waterproofing and dual stereo front facing speakers. The screen is gorgeous and easily read in the sunlight. The fingerprint reader is fast and accurate. The selfie camera is the best on any phone out there, while the rear is good, the S7 and Iphone 7 have better ones in my opinion. Battery life is very decent and better than any Iphone and just a tad behind Galaxy S7, definitely lasts a full day of 12 hr use,and with the smart charge technology, the battery won't deplete quickly like other phones. The thing is I found a bit cumbersome is the software, but Sony always fix their software issues quickly. If you need the perfect software experience with lag free use, go to Apple, but remember the hefty price and the limitations Apple imposes on their customers (no headphone jack, sd card and the Itunes ???). I recommend this phone for any one who wants a thing different than Samsung in Android. However, I see that the S7 outperforms Sony XZ in few features. The back camera is one of them while the battery is another, yet the software in Samsung is never to be trusted on the long run if you need to carry your phone for a period of two years, as the Sony SW stands the test of time better than the TouchWiz of Samsung. Remember also that if you are a selfie lover, the Sony is the one for you. The front facing camera is not only very sharp, but the wide angle is big enough for you and your friends to fit in that pic.
