Design & Display

Unique ALKALEIDO™ metal finish

The curved design makes the XZ slightly more rounded than previous Xperia models. The back case is made from high purity ALKALEIDO™ metal, giving it a unique feel.

Vibrant display

Featuring a 5.2-inch HD TRILUMINOS display, the Xperia XZ provides a high-quality crispness to rival its predecessors. And the vivid Full HD display makes for an amazing viewing experience.

Three times the precision

Capturing perfect shots will be the new norm with the Xperia XZ’s rear-facing 23MP camera with triple image sensing technology.

The imaging sensors cover movement, distance and colour. So whether you’re taking live action shots or colourful landscape captures, you can expect a crisp and clear picture quality.

Seamless selfies

Its wide-angle lens and front-facing 13MP camera, means you can add taking high-quality selfies to the Xperia XZ’s list of impressive features.

Under the hood

Smart charging

The Xperia XZ takes battery life to the next level with intelligent charging. The model uses innovative technology to pick up your charging patterns, then adapts them to your usage accordingly — giving the 2,900mAh battery up to twice its lifespan.

Speed and power

A 64-bit quad-core processor partnered with 3GB RAM puts both speed and power in the palm of your hand. Even with multiple apps running at once, you can expect a lightening-speed performance.

There’s also 32GB of internal storage for all your photos, songs and videos, but if that’s not enough you can add a microSD card of up to 256GB.

Water and dust-resistant

Just like the Xperia X and Z5, the XZ is dust-proof and water-resistant. Certified as IP68, the Xperia XZ will be safe in 1.5m of water for up to 30 minutes.

Other features

Fingerprint sensor

The power button has a built-in fingerprint sensor, letting you save up to five prints for that extra level of security.

USB Type-C

The Xperia XZ uses USB Type-C, instead of the usual micro USB port. Type-C can transfer data much quicker, and charge up faster. It’s also completely symmetrical, so you won’t accidentally get it upside down when plugging in.

Sony Xperia XZ is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of money Got this phone as a something new , refreshing and boy what a mistake I've made. Apart from awful design, square as a brick, then there is that unfortunate camera. Terrible picture quality on 23mp, oversharpened with white grain when zoomed in. The longer I have it the more I dislike it (2 months) No useful features, overloaded with bloatware. Very unhappy to spend money on it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WORST SONY I HAVE EVER OWNED I bought it about one month ago and it was fine till this morning when i unlocked it for the first time today, it decided to make the click click noise as it went into different apps by itself and had a mind of its own and when i try to tap anything it ignores what i tap and go's mad again by itself, i did a touch test and found that all of the top section of the screen is not responding to touch as well, this phone is going for repair after i argued and tried to get it replaced, am so angry as i had looked after it with shell case and screen cover which i removed to see if it was actually causing the problem and it wasn't. Dont buy this one, i had no problems with others and really like the compact ones.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from horrible time using it I've had this phone for 9 months now and it's starting to lose its performance all round, I use the camera for vlogging on my YouTube channel, it's started to jitter the fps from a range of 30fps to about 8fps. the updates interrupts everything that I use my phone for, I keep getting missing music on my phone, music removed off my playlists for when I go out running, the performance of the device is becoming slower that even typing this now it's a bit of a challenge. I have only installed 10 apps that are virus free and don't take space too much, plus the system cache wtaf?!? 3.5gb of system cache (not app, SYSTEM) to clear, I've had bad experiences with the xperia brandline from sony and I don't think I'll be using it again for my next upgrade.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from good paperweight I guess Where to start with this phone... I'll start with the positives I guess, the screen is very sharp and clear if you want to waste the extra battery life by having it turned past minimum brightness. It looks good I had it in blue, and its fairly cheap. Now to the truly horrific everyday things that the phone cant do. The battery life is shockingly bad my iphone was better and thats saying something! I've took this phone off charge a few times at 100% less than an hour later of browsing social media etc I've been down to below 50% sometimes and that with my screen brightness right down and Sonys 'stamina mode'. Number two, this phone struggles to not crash all the time it seems to be any third party app or app that uses the camera, so pretty much all your social media crashes after a while of becomes that slow in working that you get frustrated and give up. Want to take a quick photo getting your phone out your pocket? Next joke, using the quick access to camera I'd say crashes 40% of the time. I'm not surprised given that I downloaded an app closing app, even with this working the phone is constantly running at using 2.2ghz of the ram in the phone out of them 2.3/2.4 it has available to use it seems sony couldn't be bothered optimising the latest android version for its phones. This brings me to number 3, carphone warehouses delightful staff persuaded me against the pixel XL because they reckoned its camera was inferior to this, but in my experience the camera on this just is not the best on the market, the hardware may be but it seems sonys software completely ruins it, colours are too vibrant making them not look real and if you zoom in on the photo you've just taken its horribly grainy, my old iphone 5s was much better camera wise imo. So yeah if your looking for a cheap quality phone that has the price of flagship phones then this is for you! But i wouldn't shrug off the bad reviews most people have wrote thinking its rubbish because it isn't! To make it worse carphone wouldn't even let me return it within the 14day cooling off period :|
