When will the Samsung Galaxy S8 be released?

Following announcement on 29 March, we expect the Samsung Galaxy S8 to be available to order from Carphone Warehouse around mid-April.

What's the difference between the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Samsung Galaxy S8?

There are quite a few differences between the S7 and S8, but the first thing you'll notice is the display. The S8's screen is much bigger, stretching right across the face of the phone. There's also an iris scanner included above the display now for improved security.

Where is the home button on Samsung Galaxy S8?

The home button is now on the screen, because there isn't any room under it. And the fingerprint scanner, which was embedded within the home button on the S7, is now on the back of the phone, next to the camera lens.

What is the screen aspect ratio of the Samsung Galaxy S8?

The aspect ratio of the Samsung Galaxy S8's screen is 18:5:9. Compared to the S7's, which was 16:9.

Which brand of headphones does the Samsung Galaxy S8 come with?

With every Samsung Galaxy S8, you'll receive a pair of earbuds tuned by AKG in the box as standard.

What is Bixby?

Samsung's first home-grown virtual assistant is called Bixby. It lives inside the new Galaxy S8 , and it'll be arriving in the UK later this year.

Which VR headset can I use the Samsung Galaxy S8 with?

The Samsung Galaxy works with the new Gear VR (2017). To get started, use the USB Type-C adaptor to plug the phone into the mask, and you'll be taken through a tutorial set process. Make sure you're connected to Wi-Fi first, as the downloads can be quite large.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from samsung s8 had to return a samsung s9 as the battery life was shocking, and i got the older s8 instead. This battery is lasting much better, seems to last as long like my older a5 2017, so thats a great plus.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great phone but bad fingerprint scanner placement I got this phone and was happy I did. Fast, great camera and battery life, same as my son's Huawei P Smart. Only fault is fingerprint scanner placement. Everyone I try to use it, I smudge my camera lens. But still great phone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stunning views and angles. I have had this phone, (Midnight Black) for 6 months now. I would 100% recommend anyone who gets this phone to have a tempered glass screen protector and a protective case. I got a Urban Armour Gear case and its protected my front screen and back screen from smashing, (the case has tilted edges to protect the front screen). My phone has not smashed or made a scratch yet. :) POSITIVES Battery life performance is pretty good, having the phone for 6 months. Although you may lose a few percentage if you leave some backgrounds left on. The phone can almost last me around 7-8 hours for medium usage such as going on social media, watching Youtube, playing games... The camera is amazing with dark pictures being taken. As how Samsung advertised. dark pictures look great with the S8 camera. It very snappy on taking pictures. Bixby is great with helping you guide you though your phone such as calling someone, message someone, play music etc. The S8 had an octa-core Exynos 8895 system-on-chip and 4 GB of RAM, which means the phone works pretty fast on heavy apps like Facebook. The phone has a headphone jack, which means I don't need to buy extension leads or anything as headphones already come in the box. The AKG headphones are okay but not the best ones from Samsung in terms of loudness and the microphone. The brightness of the screen is great as well, but it will drain the battery a lot quicker. The phone is slim and looks beautiful with the infinity display, with the viewing angles being EXCELLENT! The screen can be zoomed in on watching videos on Youtube and it offers options on your videos to make GIFS, (which is fun), slow motion etc. PLENTY of storage on your phone and if you need more space, you can add an SD card. I have around 50 apps, (around 30 I downloaded and 20 that were pre-installed). NEGATIVES Okay, The Bixby button can sometimes be annoying cause for example when you are listening to music and you want to volume down/up, you might accidentally activate Bixby voice. Sometimes when you are playing games, the phone might freeze for a bit and close down. The phone may be laggy for a bit. The fingerprint scanner can sometimes be an issue if I want to unlock my phone with my finger. Its place on left side of the right hand if you hold onto the phone, which is a bit of an awkward position. Also, the fingerprint scanner is a bit slow on recognising my finger. A minor point is just the phone can make fingerprint marks very easily but that can be done by putting a case on and occasionally giving it a wipe. Without the case, the phone can be VERY slippy on your hand, (BE WARY!). With the infinity display, some videos will be cut down a bit but hasn't really bothered me that much. I would recommend this product to anyone who likes having a big display that fills almost all the scren and can do a lot other cool features. Whereas Apple device may offer the Imessage and business features, the S8 can provide more of an personal experience with your own Bixby and be able to put home apps on your homepage that Apple doesn't do. Not to say Apple is rubbish product but as a user that has owned a few Samsung phones and some Apple devices, I would chose Samsung any day.
