Design & display

Seeing the big picture

The Galaxy S8’s Quad HD infinity display measures 5.8-inches from corner to corner, subtly wrapping around the sides of the smartphone. And, the new aspect ratio of 18,5:9 means you’ll be able to see a bigger picture than ever before on mobile.

Flawless design

There’s no denying the Samsung Galaxy S8 is a stunning device, with a smooth glass front and back that’s easy to hold in one hand. The curved screen gives you loads of room to enjoy all your favourite apps, games and videos. And the Quad HD resolution means you’ll see every detail.

Improved security

Privacy has never been more important, which is why, as well as a fingerprint scanner, Samsung has included an iris scanner on the Galaxy S8. It detects the unique makeup of your eyes for next-level security.

More light for better photos

Samsung’s Dual Pixel technology lets in loads of light to make sure all your photos and videos are bright and beautiful. It can also focus in an instant, so you’ll never have a blurry shot.

Even better selfies

Squeezed in above the massive infinity display is a powerful 8MP front-facing camera. It can record video in Quad HD resolution, and it has autofocus technology to make sure your selfies really stand out.

Under the hood

Loads of storage

The Samsung Galaxy S8 boasts a huge 64GB of internal storage as standard, meaning there’s lot of space for all your favourite apps and games. And, by using the Google Photos app, you can save all your videos and photos to the cloud.

Pure power

On the power front, there’s a beefy 64-bit octa-core processor, joined by 4GB RAM. Together they make sure you can do lots of things at once without any lag in between.

All-round protection

The S8 is protected against water and dust, certified as IP68. This means that the smartphone can be submerged in fresh water at a depth of 1.5m for up to 30 minutes, without any damage to its performance.

Samsung Galaxy S8 is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 51.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost perfect Battery life is amazing. It has all features needed for every day life and fun and games and then some Features you didnt know you needed. I suggest having a samsung VR headset with this for maximum entertainment. Their is only one small issue and that is the screen is a little clumsy but that is fixable if you put on a popsocket which are about £3. Its just the hand you hold the phone with touches the curved screen.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great phone with lots of features I bought a blue Galaxy S8 from Carphone 2 months ago. I had few Samsung phones(note4, galaxy s6 edge+ and galaxy s7 edge) and the galaxy s8 has the best design/ergonomics . The screen is awsome, a very responsive keyboard, the Touchwiz(now called Samsung experience) is very good ,a bit laggy and with lots of handy features such as always on display(in my opinion this is the best looking UI ). Not to mention about the headphones, very good quality. Battery life is pretty much the same(i used full brightness ,location on,wifi on ,mobile data on,always on display and Bluetooth on) I get 4h-4.5h SOT in about 14h of use(morning to evening- interneting/youtube/videos/WhatsApp). In direct sun the screen brightness goes up and makes the phone very warm to touch. Not the brightest screen from Samsung when outdoor in sunny days ,but the best looking one(S6 edge+ was very bright). RAM management is worst than galaxy s7 edge(especially the internet browser which will always reload the background pages, same as the apps ). Every now and then i accidentally pressed the Bixby button, especially when you reach for volume buttons . The screen isnt as curved as the S7 edge and i do recommend a case and a screen protector (most of the tempered glass protectors out there arent fully adhesive to the screen which makes the dust to get in) The phone feels very good when handling, easy to be used with one hand. Overall i am happy with it and i do recommend it .

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Brilliant phone. Overall it's a great phone, obviously the best part being the screen. The camera is amazing, not as good as the pixel, but still one of the best in the business. Easily the best looking phone out today, the glass smooth's over the edges and the whole design is beautiful. I'm averaging 5-6 hours sot which is better than most flagships out nowadays. Fingerprint sensor takes a few days getting used to but it's easy enough once muscle memory kicks in, all the complaints surrounding it are exaggerated. Now I'm not a fan of touchwiz...but it's not bad, In fact it's greatly improved if you are just buying the phone and keeping it as is. If you need to change it any custom launcher works fine and makes the phone fee smoother. Now obviously the phone has bloatware. Some good some bad, fortunately it can be disabled using a package disabler. Bixby is an interesting addition which has improved a lot since release, you either use it or don't either way it's here to stay by the look of it.
