Design and display

Built to last

The Nokia 8 is crafted from a single piece of precision-crafted aluminium, which wraps around the sides of the phone from the rear. It’s also super-slim at just 7.9mm - looking and feeling great.

See more detail in everything

The large Quad HD display with 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 5 not only looks great, but it’s really strong too. It measures 5.3-inches from corner to corner, and delivers a really high quality picture.

Two lenses for better photos

The rear camera is made up of two 13MP lenses, giving you loads of creative options. You can use both lenses at the same time with live bokeh effect, blurring the background for a sharp professional look. Or, you can use them independently for detailed monotone shots.

The bothie

Nokia’s branded its Dual-Sight mode ‘bothie’, which lets you use the 13MP front-facing lens at the same time as the rear 13MP camera. This lets you put yourself in the frame, at the same time as taking photos of your mates. You can also broadcast live to Facebook with this mode – ideal if you want to capture your own real-time reactions.

Under the hood

Super-quick charging

The Nokia 8 comes with the latest USB technology, USB Type-C. The symmetrical power port lets you inject charge quicker than ever before, meaning you’ll be able to go from flat to full in around an hour with the 3,090mAh cell.

Keeping things moving

To make sure you’re never slowed down when using the Nokia 8, it comes equipt with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. There’s also a generous 4GB RAM, helping you skip between lots of different apps without any lag time.

Nokia 8 is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 39.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nokia 8 = Great Running Oreo 8.1.0 and the phone is simply great to use. No lag. Battery life is awesome. I'm a heavy user with multiple accounts syncing constantly. Emails being sent every minuet is so for work and pleasure. Off charge at 06:00, now 13:00 and I've still got 75% battery left. Oreo seems to be vast improvement to what I last used before jumping to Apple a few years ago. Nokia has returned with a superb device that ticks all the boxes I'd expect. No negatives, yet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice to see Nokia back in the game Decided it was time to upgrade from my faithful Lumia 930 after many years of impeccable service (a slow degrade in battery life and of course zero support) and bar a Motorola Razr and two Samsungs (S3 and S4 and dumped them owing to the horrendous bloatware) I've always had Nokias, so I was pleased to see the launch of new Nokia models. Very simple to get back in the Android groove, fingerprint was a bit fiddly to do but I can see it has its uses! One niggling issue was not being able to delete pics immediately and having to take a rather long route to the SD card as Google Photos says access is denied from the camera, but no doubt there's a way round this. No problems with speed, no lagging, app use etc although I'm not a heavy app user. Accessing email etc is quick and easy. No problems pairing with headphones, in car entertainment and other stuff. Battery life is astonishing, fast charge is a must these days. Camera doesn't seem as good as the 930 but as yet not had a chance to test it thoroughly so for now only 3 stars. However I'm on my second one, as the first developed a strange fault after charging where the screen divided itself neatly in half with a strange purple/blue pixellated effect and refused to turn off although I could just about access the screen for entering the PIN. Took it back to my local CW who said it was more than definitely faulty and I had a new one arrive the day after. So far so good although slightly paranoid about charging it.... Overall though, it's a great phone - no doubt Nokia will improve on these models over the coming years but for now, definitely welcome back Nokia!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not great quality I bought this phone in September 2017, pretty much as soon as it was launched. I loved it when i took it out of the packaging. Looks lovely and stylish. Over the first 3 months i have had many problems. It constantly crashes despite restarting it daily. I have now got a crackle coming from the speaker. Poor after just 3 months. Its safe to say i wont be buying a nokia again in the future. Very disappointing
