Design and display

Created with everyone in mind

The 4.5-inch display is a great size to view, watch and browse. The playback uses an IPS panel, so you can look at photos or watch funny YouTube clips in rich colour.

Gives you that retro feel

Don’t let the Nokia 1’s price tag fool you - it’s a great looking little phone, with an iconic Nokia feel. And its lightweight design means you can comfortably use it with one hand.  You can even mix things up noughties style with a range of alternative “Xpress-on” covers.

One handy little shooter

The Nokia 1’s 5MP rear camera with LED flash is perfect for taking fun snaps. It’s ideal for kids who are getting to grips with their first phone.

Treat your selfie

Staying connected is easy with the Nokia 1. You can upload and share selfies and make video calls to your heart’s content with the 2MP front camera.

Under the hood

Google Assistant Go, Go, Go!

You ask, it answers. Nokia 1 comes complete with Google Assistant Go edition. Want the football results? Or tomorrow’s weather? Whatever you like – just say the word.

More storage , more data

The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition), letting you use apps faster, without any annoying lags. What’s more, the phone comes pre-loaded with apps - like WhatsApp, Google Maps and YouTube - so you’ll use less storage space and data, giving you more room for photos, apps and music.

Nokia 1 is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 9.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Budget Phone Build quality. Plastic polycarbonate removable back. Reminiscent of the Nokia Lumia 520. The 4.5” screen very similar in quality and resolution. Hard to see out doors in bright light. The loud speaker whilst clear is a little on the quiet side. With 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage a microSD card is essential. I formatted initially as removable storage which worked fine but was concerned that I would have problems with Apps and their updates so have now formatted it as internal. The Android Go apps are stripped down versions of the normal apps which in most cases you can still download any way. The Android Maps Go is not a SAT Nav enabled app like the full version. Still no problem as I have both installed. I also have “Here We Go” Maps installed with off line maps installed. This is the main reason I formatted the microSD card for Internal. All works fine. Camera is great for outdoor shots. It is a fixed focus type so is quick to respond. Photos are more than good enough for Whatsapp, Facebook etc. Battery life seems good. With music player/ podcast via Bluetooth to my car, web browsing, 10 minutes at least of phone calls, text and Whatsapp I have about 50% or more when I return home from work. Relatively slow at charging. I don’t play games on this phone so can’t comment on its ability at this. Overall performance is acceptable. Apps take between 2 and 8 seconds to open. At least the phone is consistent and you get use to the lag. I’ve had more expensive Android phones which are no quicker. Background apps do get shut down regularly. This phone has no Finger print reader, which is fair enough at this price point. I have had no crashes on this phone and haven’t had to restart it once. I bought this phone to use daily as my work phone. Previous work phones have been feature phones which I have been happy with, but with more of my family using Whatsapp I went for this. The Nokia 8110 4G still hasn’t got Whatsapp even though Nokia implied it was getting it, so for the same price this is the better option. Also the Nokia 8110 is awkward to text on because KaiOS is poor. Thanks for reading

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I have bought one of these phones and had no problems with it so far I would buy another as a back up phone it works perfectly fine and better then most of the other brands I.e iPhone and samsung.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bought as a spare I bought this so that I could take it to America with a pre loaded SIM full of data, mainly to order Ubers whilst over there without racking up a huge bill in my contract phone. It's a very basic phone, and runs slowly. It was fine to take away and use abroad as a second phone. However, a couple of months later my main mobile packed in so I put my son in the Nokia 1. It's been frustrating to use as a main phone. It's very very slow, the memory is rubbish. I have also noticed that sometimes when I send a text message it freezes during 'sending' this prevents me from sending or receiving any other texts and I end up having to restart the handset, then delete the text message that become jammed and retype and resend. It does this a few times a day. Today i reached my limit and have ordered a new phone, as the Nokia 1 nearly ended up out the window. I would say this phone is fine for occasional use or maybe for a child's first mobile phone.
