New Contract
It has never been easier to switch mobile network. You used to have to use your PAC or STAC code direct with a network, which could be a complicated process however, due to new rules from Ofcom, the telecoms regulator - it’s simpler and faster, because you can also switch with us when you buy your new contract. Putting the power to switch to a better deal firmly in your hands.
Once you’ve found a new deal that’s perfect for you, the first thing you need for switching is a PAC or STAC code. You can request a PAC and STAC code quickly and easily by text. Which code you need depends on whether you want to keep your mobile number - PAC code - or get a new mobile number – STAC code.
If you’re ready to switch network but haven’t a clue about PAC and STAC codes, find out everything you need to know here, including what they are, how to get a PAC or STAC code, and how to use them.
A PAC - porting authorisation code - is a code that allows you to keep your phone number when you switch mobile network. The code is used to transfer over your number to your new provider and stop the service with your current provider.
A PAC code is an alphanumeric code that should have three letters, followed by six numbers. For example, a PAC code should look like ABC123456.
The quickest way to request a PAC code is to text PAC to 65075. Your current provider should reply with your PAC code within a minute, though it can take up to two hours. Alternatively, you can call your current provider or login to your online account.
To use a PAC code, you give it to your new provider, or enter it into the basket page if you purchase a contract from us. Your new network will handle the transfer of your number as well as the termination of service from the provider you’re leaving. Your new network provider should aim to complete the switchover within one working day; however, this may take slightly longer. You can also select the day that the port goes through on.
If you change your mind after you’ve requested a PAC code and don’t want to switch anymore, that’s okay, you don’t have to use your PAC code. If you don’t give it to a new network, your existing contract continues on the same mobile number.
A PAC code is valid for 30 days. If you don’t use it within this time and you still want to switch network, you’ll need to request a new PAC code.

You’ll need a STAC code - service termination authorisation code - if you want to switch mobile network and get a new phone number. The code is used to stop the service with your current provider.
A STAC is an alphanumeric code that looks similar to a PAC code. It should have six numbers followed by three letters, for example, 123456ABC.
To get a STAC code, simply text STAC to 75075. You should receive your STAC from your current provider within a minute, though it can sometimes take up to two hours. Other ways to get a STAC code are to call your current provider or login to your online account.
