Sony Xperia 5 II 5G is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Return to form Previously always had Sony phones but stopped 3/4 years ago as fell out of love with the range. Tried Apple, Samsung, and Nokia in-between which all had their pros and cons (hated iOS, hated Samsung UI, Nokia not very good quality), and always wished to return to Sony. I have spent a long time researching phones and what is important to me is ease of use, clean android, strong audio, good screen for some media use, and decent camera. I researched this current model and so far am very pleased with purchase. It is very close to stock android, easy to use one handed (can pull notifications bar down from anywhere on home screen), and the 120hz screen is superb. Still playing around with camera but using photo pro instills a sense of professionalism. Planning to purchase Sony headphones to take advantage of Ldac. With latest processor the phone easily handles multiple apps being in use at once. The elongated screen this is especially useful for using two apps at same time. Side sense is also a useful feature. Downsides - battery is average but does charge up quickly. There is some bloatware which can't be deleted but easy to disable so disappears. Also, as Sony seems to be a niche part of the market now you are limited in which cases/screen protectors and accessories you can find compared to e.g. Samsung or Apple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best phone I've ever owned! I previously owned a Samsung S9+ and was going to get the S20+, but after reading the professional reviews of this phone, where they nearly all said they would buy it for themselves, I changed my mind. As Carphone Warehouse were offering £200 off at the time it seemed a bargain - and I'm glad I did. Firstly, I like the fact that although it is a good sized screen it is easy to use with one hand (something my S9+ wasn't). Speaking of the screen, it is very sharp, bright and with a 120Hz refresh rate very smooth when scrolling. The overall build quality is excellent and the thinness of the device means that even with a case on, it is still pretty thin. Battery life is excellent and easily lasts me 2 days (the S9+ struggled to last one) and if you need a quick charge you can get 30%+ in about 10 mins with the supplied fast charging block. The cameras produce excellent photos in all conditions and unlike the S9+ the colours look natural.I particularly like the 3X optical zoom (which produces sharp close ups) as well as the different modes. If you are a pro photographer you can get the same interface that is on the Alpha camera range allowing you to adjust all the parameters for the shot. I have had the 5 II for 2 months now and don't regret my decision. Best phone I've ever owned!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst phone ever. Have only ever owned Sony phones xz3 compact xz1 and a Sony E which was an entry phone. All were far superior. Problems: apps keep slipping off the page, overly sensitive, just moving it and another app opens, listening to radio and putting in pocket and the channel will change. Slippery beyond belief and getting a case from a phone shop is impossible. I cannot take it out with me, it is just too temperamental. Pros:. Excellent sound.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best phone of 2020 All the video reviews I have seen say this phone is one of the best of 2020, and they aren't wrong. This is truly one of the best phones on the market, can't recommend it enough. Very sharp camera, clean user interface, great in low light, powerful 8gb ram, rapid refresh rate of 120HZ, 3.5mm audio cable, and it looks great.
