Rumours from the web
Pocket-lint’s Rik Henderson writes: “It will have an Infinity Display, like the latest Samsung flagships, it is said. But its screen will be 6.3-inches - just a fraction larger than the S8+. Where it will differ, it seems, will be with a vertical dual-lens camera on the rear and S Pen stylus.”
Sean Keach comments on behalf of Trusted Reviews: “The Galaxy S8 saw a move to QHD+, which means you’re getting 2,960 x 1,440 pixels. Given that the Note 7 screen is expected to grow, it would be hugely surprising if the resolution wasn’t hiked up to QHD+.
“But there’s also a chance we may see an ever bigger bump, with a definite possibility of a 4K Ultra HD screen on the horizon. Earlier this year, the Korea Herald published a report about how Samsung was working on massively increasing the pixel density of its Gear VR virtual reality headset. The easiest way to do this would be to significantly ramp up the number of pixels in the Galaxy Note 8, which would then be docked into the headset as the screen.”
An article from TechRadar, written by Matt Swider, reports: “The latest leak suggests the Note 8 may have a fingerprint scanner under the screen and we've also seen rumors [sic] suggesting the Note 8 could get a powerful dual-lens camera and a massive 6.4-inch screen as well as keeping the top-of-the-line S8 specs intact.”
The rumours continue suggesting a new S Pen could be in the works: “The S Pen is a Galaxy Note 8 essential – it's why some people are holding off on buying the S8 and S8 Plus. Good things may come to those who wait. The S Pen stylus could come with a built-in speaker, according to a new patent. What the speaker does isn't clear. It could very well read notes back to you.”
