Design and display

A new view

Whether you’re looking to work or play, the Tab S3’s sAMOLED 9.7-inch display will deliver. It supports HDR video, meaning you’ll see more depth and detail in everything you watch. And the design hasn’t been overlook either, with the back of the tablet featuring a stunning glossy glass coating.

The 2017 S Pen

Samsung’s new S Pen stylus has seen a refresh since the Tab S2, now offering over 4,000 levels of pressure-sensitivity. The nib’s tip is just 0.7mm, so it’ll feel just like using a real ballpoint. And as an added bonus, it never needs charging up.

Camera and speakers

4K camera

The 13MP camera is perfect for both photos and videos. It can film in 4K and 30 frames per second, and with autofocus technology built in as standard, you’ll never come away with a blurry shot. The front-facing camera is great too. At 5MP you’ll be able to video chat with friends and family all over the world.

Superior sound from AKG

The Tab S3 has four speakers tuned by AKG – one in each of the corners. And, the tablet understands where its multi-directional speakers are. So, if you’re watching a film in portrait, and then rotate it to landscape, the soundtrack will follows suit.

Under the hood

A longer-lasting battery

A massive 6,000mAh battery is on-board to make sure you’re never left without power. And with USB Type-C technology on board you’ll be able to charge up in a flash. The impressive capacity will provide around 8 hours of internet browsing, or 12 hours of video playback.

The latest processing power

Gaming and streaming HDR video from Amazon Prime is all well and good, but unless you’ve got some serious power, you could be left high and dry. Thankfully Samsung has included the Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB RAM to tackle the most demanding of tasks.

4G and Wi-Fi

By adding a SIM card, you’ll be able to get online no matter where you are. Enjoy high speed internet access everywhere, and forget about hunting out Wi-Fi hotspots in cafes and bars.

Accessories

Samsung Tab S3 is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Phenomenal Product, Extortionate Price I was amazed at the all glass front and back, and how great it looked in the black finish. It's ridiculously thin yet it feels very robust and I'm not worried about it breaking because of the great build quality. The addition of the S Pen is a welcome feature in my opinion having been a user of the Tab S2 for a while as well however the lack of S Pen slot/magnetic stick-on is quite annoying meaning that I have to carry the S Pen around separately which can be tedious and I am concerned that it may get easily lost/misplaced. The camera on it is definitely not for photography; the pictures don’t come out very clear however they’re great for using video calling apps such as Skype! Combined with the speakers I was very clearly able to hear my friend without any issues and without having to put the volume on full, which was a nice change. I think the partnership with AKG has done wonders for the Tab S3 because you can hear sound so crisp through the 4 speakers without any interference, I tried a couple of the streaming services and they all worked great, I didn't get a chance to try any HiFi streaming services however. Samsung is known for having the best screens on the market and I think this has been executed perfectly in this case. Videos on it look superb; I was actually shocked at how good the screen quality was. Even the brightness settings work great, I’ve never had to manually change anything whether in blaring sunlight or in complete pitch black darkness. It’s complimented really well with the blue light filter; I was using it just before going to bed for some reading and had no problems with eye strain or anything. The Samsung software on the tablet is good however I feel it a bit dated in comparison to my S8+’s however I think this is something that can be easily addressed with a software update in the future. I’m extremely eager to see what Samsung come up with the new Android Oreo 8.0 tablet features, I think it will just increase the productivity of the device and make it even more powerful and useful. Overall I think the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is an amazing device and by far the best in its league so that it gets five stars, however even with all the bells and whistles it has, I don’t think the current price point is justifiable because you could get a decent specification laptop for that sort of money which would do many of the same things if not better with a desktop experience, so for that reason I have only given it 4 stars.
