Samsung Galaxy A40 is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fingerprint doesn't work, won't charge I've had this phone since August last year and at first it was great. But after like a month or so, the fingerprint just stopped working. Apps keep saying it's not enabled, it is. When in settings it suggests to restart it, this doesn't help. After a few months it didn't want to charge, once it was completely dead, it charged again so I didn't contact services. This happened a few times now and this time, it's been over a day so I'm going to contact tomorrow. Never had these issues with Motorola one, which sadly ended up in the lake. Thought this would be an upgrade, but it's not.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Impressive phone I bought this because my trusty Motorola had filled the memory and the sound was playing up. Ideally, I wanted another Moto, but new phones are so big and don't fit in a pocket comfortably, so I went for the A40 as it is relatively compact. Then CW dropped the price by £10 a week after my purchase - Grrrrr! The phone has impressed so far - great screen, battery lasts all day, good memory. There are 2 downsides, however. Firstly, it is very slippery and will fall off chairs, sofas very easily, possibly damaging phone if it falls onto hard surfaces. Secondly, and much more of an issue, my old Moto would show if I had messages, notifications, or missed calls, just by moving the phone. With the A40, you have to unlock the phone to check - really inconvenient. People say there are apps, but they seem to be either a flashing light when you have a notification (no use to me), or the screen is partially on all the time (battery drainer). Overall, though, I am pleased with this phone

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good phone other than the battery life Got this a few days ago, but have another A40 as a work phone so was familiar with the features. Camera images are sharp which is a plus compared to my J5. Lightweight, sleek, good screen size, pretty fast. I got the blue as I wanted something a little different than I've had, wasn't sure if I'd like it, but its actually really nice. The only downfall which I had with the work phone is battery runs down quickly, and I am not someone who is always on the phone or always actively using apps. If the battery life was better I'd have given it 5*.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Slightly disappointed Replacement for my Sony Xperia ZX1 Compact, and to be honest I'd prefer my old phone back. Camera was better and battery life noticeably better, even at 18 months old. Although one of the smallest smartphones you can get, it's a bit big to use one handed. Also screen often isn't responsive to touch. Fingerprint scanner is very accurate
