Design and display

Top-drawer clarity

The high-res screen boasts Full HD clarity, and supports an outstanding colour range. It’s ready for anything - with Corning Gorilla Glass protection against bumps and scrapes - and IP68 water-resistance for all weathers.

Two’s better than one

The Moto X4 has two lenses on the back, at 8MP and 12MP. The camera doesn’t just provide an impressive quality to your photos, but it gives you a super-wide view of 120-degrees, too.

Bright, beautiful selfies

The front-facing camera is a very impressive 16MP and comes with its own flash, so you’ll be able to capture the perfect selfie, night or day.

Under the hood

Long-lasting battery

The X4’s battery capacity is 3,000mAh – able to store more than enough power to see you all the way through the day and into the night. It’s also got TurboPower technology on board, able to supply 6 hours of charge from just 15 minutes.

A powerful multitasker

On the inside there’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor and a whopping 3GB RAM, to make sure you’re never slowed down when enjoying all your favourite games and apps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for the price and heavy user Purchased this phone when it reduced to £200 and was well worth getting the deal. I got the blue edition which I actually thinks looks the coolest and is definitely a phone to show friends as an alternative to just owning a Samsung or Apple device. The phones feel is premium, light and perfect for small or bid hands. The charging port is UsB ' which is great as the old micro USB ports easily become damaged. Battery life even with mobile data, GPS and video usage is over 24 hours. The phone easily charges with its included turbo charger in about 90 mins. Android Oreo means you are up to date with latest software. Camera quality is great, videos are very clear and panoramas photos are pretty cool with full 360 video compatibility with them. Easy to use device even for a new smart phone user. Google assistant is always handy for hands free mobile use along with Gboard. Occassionally crashes depending on app overload or may become slow but that is acceptable for the pricing. Internal memory is 32GB which is fantastic for a phone in this price bracket. Overall happy :-)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Moto G on steroids Overall it's a tank, although back and front is glass, feels very solid. Outdated for 2018, that's a given, but at it's <250£ - it's a good option. I like everything about it, even the thick bezels - so when you take it out of pocket or hold it - ZERO ACCIDENTAL TOUCHES Back cameras: Average portrait mode, but good if you know photography, in auto you'll get a mess without any subject framing skills. Wide angle camera: at the back has more side distortion than LG G6/G7 or V20/V30, but considering the difference in price - that distortion is not a deal breaker. Selfie camera: is VERY GOOD and even has a dedicated front facing flash. Battery: Lasts me all day with average to heavy use. Bluetooth: You can connect UP TO FOUR BLUETOOTH DEVICES, with fine tuning it can even be a home cinema like set up. + It has 32bit audio codec for better quality Bluetooth playback Operating System: 8.0 Oreo - The latest widely available (P isn't officially out fully and is still a Beta *Disclaimer: writing this statement in May 2018) Speaker: Front facing, not the loudest, but good Screen: Good LCD panel, cant complain, backlight is there always, but not a deal breaker (just about visible in direct sunlight, probably the weakest point - not bright enough, average) Good Alternative: Huawei P20 LITE (just came out, around 30% more expensive, bigger screens with no bezels (but with "beautiful and iPhonesque" notch) and don't be put off by 2mp second camera at the back, IT'S THERE FOR THE DEPTH OF FIELD aka PORTRAIT MODE only, so it's cool as your favourite ice cream)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value for money, trustworthy phone Solid and flawless performance, first class build quality. Nice pictures, wide angle camera, vivid, crisp and colourful screen. Compact design, great Moto features. Battery is ok too. For £199 this is a lot of phone for your money. Hard to beat price/performance ratio.
