Moto G5 is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 2 out of 5 by daveo from Read Specs carefully before purchase. I have had this phone for 3 weeks after having upgraded from a Moto G LTE. I like the feel of the phone and the screen size is better than the Moto G. My prime purpose for upgrading was to get more memory as the 8GB was nearly full and unable to cope with updates. So the 16GB was suitable for me. I also like to store my music collection on the SD card. To cut a long story short, although the music would play initially, if I switched the phone off and back on again, the sd card showed on the phone as corrupted, but would play OK on when plugged into my laptop. Carphone warehouse have changed the phone but problem still exists. I have checked on Motorola forums and many people have reported the problem and it has been around since at least Nov 2016, so Motorola don't appear to be doing much to sort it. I have also found that Motorola have removed the north point sensor, consequently no compass software will run. This may be not a big issue for most persons, but it is for me. Not sure what my next step will be.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SiEEE from Great features & Premium Feel for Budget Price Am very happy so far with my Moto G5 purchase and pleased my research paid off lol! For the price, it feels alot more like a premium handset - the screen is stunningly crisp, deep & vibrant, the camera is a strong good rating for pics & HD video, processor isn't lightning fast though fine & stable enough, new Android 7 is very clean, easy to use yet offering alot more in-depth functionality and the handset looks & feels quality. Would definitely recommend for £150!

Rated 2 out of 5 by simon1999 from Good hardware let down by poor software I upgraded from a Lumia 640 to the Moto G5 after reading some reviews on how good it was. I've had Iphones, windows and Android before so the OS wasn't really difficult to get up to speed with. The hardware on this phone is excellent. The screen is crisp and clear, the speaker is good and phone calls are clear on both ends. The camera is very good with clean crisp pictures even in low quality light. The main faults with this phone are down to the software. The battery is absolutely appallling. Out of the box without any additional apps installed it barely made it through the day. Start adding your push email or using sat nav and It would be plugged in and charging by 6pm. I used Androids Doze app to manage battery life but it made little difference. Other niggles were that it didn't automatically read out your text messages when connected to the car stereo, despite being advertised by motorola as coming with moto assist app to do this. I have sent it back and gone back to using my Lumia, which lasted 2-3 days on a single charge even with heavy usage. Nice try Motorola - but utlimately the OS let's down a cracking phone.
