Design and display

Modern style

The Lumia 550 has the same modern, angular design as the more expensive new Lumias. That means it has stylish square edges and a smooth back that looks elegant and feels comfortable to hold.

More room to play

Apps, games, books and the web all look better on the 4.7-inch HD screen of the Lumia 550. It gives you more space to see things clearly, letting you enjoy more of your favourite things.

Camera

Sharable shots

The Lumia 550 has an amazing 5 megapixel camera on the back. This means that no matter where you are, there's no excuse for a poor photo. And you can automatically save them in the cloud with OneDrive or share them quickly on your favourite social networks.

Easy video calls

On the front of the Lumia 550 is a handy 2MP camera. It’s great for quick selfies, but it really shines when you start using the preinstalled Skype app. You can make crystal clear video calls to people all over the world.

Under the hood

Efficient speed

The quad core processor in the Microsoft Lumia 550 is designed to deliver zippy performance without draining your battery too much. That means you get decent speed to do what you want, plus a long battery life.

A battery that lasts all day

It’s not all down to the efficient processor, though. The 2,100mAh battery packs enough power to keep the phone running all day so you don’t have to worry about finding a charger while you’re out.

Other features

The power of Office

The Lumia 550 has the latest version of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. That means the phone has the power to be a mobile work station.

On the road again

If you consider yourself an adventurer, HERE Maps is here to help. It lets you save whole countries offline, so you can navigate when you can get an internet connection.

Cortana can help

Cortana, the voice controlled personal assistant, can help you with anything from reminding you to pick up some flowers when you're near the florist, to searching the web in seconds.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Mall from Lumina 550 Phone Windows 10 Unfortunately thumbs down. An awful phone. Windows 10 is riddled with problems. I dont know what Microsoft was thinking of making such a bad phone. Save your money and buy a decent phone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Kitty1971 from Worst phone ever used I hate this phone so much, it freezes constantly, turns itself on and off, jumps all over the place when trying to copy and paste anything, just a terrible functioning phone, I would never recommend this even for a basic smartphone, its horrendous, you cannot view anything online as the page will freeze and freeze and freeze constantly so you have to press the button at the side to close the screen then start again, I cannot express how bad this phone is, do not buy, so many faults, takes forever to install any updates, the screen is so unresponsive you cannot get it to be basic functions, even the refresh function doesn't work when trying to view frozen screens, main issue constant frozen pages and terrible non functioning screen which no matter how many time you tap the feature you wan't, it WILL NOT respond.
