  • Pure Android experience

The Android operating system as it was intended, and always first to update.

  • Improved camera

The rear camera weighs in at 12.3MP and now lets in more light than ever, meaning sharper photos.

  • Premium design

The plastic rear keeps the handset lightweight, without taking anything away from its premium design.

A comfortable size

"LG has been involved in the Nexus game before, and now its back with all guns blazing. The thin and lightweight design takes nothing away from the premium feel, sitting naturally in the palm."

Quality display

"Fronting the 5X is a 5.2-inch Full HD display, offering a pixel density of 424 per/inch. Colours are bright and blacks are deep, making both photos and videos look really impressive."

Best in class

"The Nexus 5X features the same 12.3MP camera as its big brother, the 6P. And with bigger pixels now letting in more light, photos will look sharper and brighter than ever. If that’s not enough, you can also launch the camera with a quick flick of your wrist – even from the lock screen."

Making sure you look your best

"To ensure you look your best in selfies, the front-facing camera weighs in at an impressive 5MP. And just like the rear camera, the pixels have been boosted in size to capture more detail."

Under the hood

"The Nexus 65X’s battery capacity comes in at a 2,700mAh, which will happily see you through the day. And, with USB Type-C fast-charging on board, you’ll spend both less time plugged in and no longer have to fiddle with getting the charging cable the right way round."

The beating heart

"An impressive 1.8GHz hexa-core processor powers the 5X, making multitasking a smooth process. Do more at the same time and don’t let anything hold you back."

Other features

Gesture controls

"To launch the 12.3MP camera, even from the lock screen, twist your wrist twice and never miss those fleeting moments again."

Fingerprint sensor

"With a smudge-resistant coating, the rear fingerprint sensor won’t stumble if you’ve been getting your hands dirty with something else. You don’t even need to press any buttons, as it knows when you’re resting on the sensor and will automatically unlock."

Rated 3 out of 5 by UKSkidmark from Quality poor Initially I was very pleased with my Google Nexus 5X. Reasonably quick, camera quality ok. Then after four months, it just died on me. Won't power on, won't take a charge. Very disappointed. Searching on-line it seems this is not a unique issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by swiftyste from best purchase Great phone if you're on a budget. The ram is a little poor which drags the phone down. But apart from that it's a great phone. The camera is one of the best definitely gives great pictures in low light and during the day. And the fingerprint scanner is definitely one of the best features on the phone

Rated 4 out of 5 by JSW from Very good phone overall Very good phone, light and good grip. Pure Android OS, always upgraded to the latest Android Version/ monthly patch and 5.2 inch is the perfect screen ratio those 2 reasons are why I didn't go with the Moto X Style or 1plus2. Quick fingerprint recognition and much improved Camera for those who have the Nexus 5 before. Battery is average to good depending on usage and apps running but mobile can be fully charged under an hour using the provided 3A LG charger. I don't mind having the new Type-c USB but the only cable provided (for the charger) is Type-C to Type-C which won't allow you to transfer or charge from your PC/laptop unless you buy a USB to USB Type-C Cable. You will have to buy a few of these anyway or some Micro USB to USB Type C adapters until it becomes the new standard.
