Design and display

Big screen doesn’t equal big phone

LG has managed to create a large mobile screen, without increasing the size of its flagship smartphone. With minimal bezels and a new aspect ratio of 18:9, the G6 gives you the big phone experience, without the inconvenience of a supersized device.

Stunning build

The G6 is actually slighter smaller than its predecessor, the G5, despite the jump in screen size. And to make sure it stays out of harm’s way, it’s built using Gorilla Glass 5.

Super wide-angle photos

Getting everyone in the frame is simple with the G6’s dual lens 13MP camera. At 125-degrees, the camera can see the same width as the human eye – perfect for a sweeping panorama.

Gesture shot

Capturing the perfect selfie isn’t always easy, but the LG G6’s 5MP front-facing lens and gesture shot setting, it’s a piece of cake. Just hold an open palm towards the lens, and then make a fist to trigger a countdown timer.

Under the hood

Power and reliability

A Snapdragon 820 processor is in charge of running the smartphone, joined by 4GB RAM, taking care of multitasking - providing a smooth experience all round. There’s also a beefy 3,300mAh battery cell, which can be powered up in a flash using the USB Type-C fast charging technology.

Protected against the elements

The LG G6 is protected against water and dust, with an IP68 rating. This means it can be safely submerged in 1.5m of fresh water for up to 30 minutes, and it’s safely sealed from dust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great phone! Had this phone a week, no problems and has all the features I need. Previously had xperia phones but they have stopped FM radio feature which I listen to at work. Checked out phones that did and come up with LG G6. It is packed with great features..wide angle camera option is a bonus! Checked reviews before, one mentioned no wifi calling. I can confirm it does have this feature!! All is good!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best alternative to galaxy s8 I bought this phone on release date and have loved it ever since. The camera is great on auto mode but manual mode is where it really shines. I'm not an avid camera enthusiast, but I have had some fun playing with the manual mode in the camera app and have managed to catch some quality photos. The screen, although not an oled, is more than enough for most people and the aspect ratio comes in handy for multitasking. It does have a slightly older processor than the galaxy s8 but in daily use this isn't noticeable and won't affect anyone. Battery life easily gets me through one day of medium-heavy use and quick charge helps if a top up is needed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I've had this phone for a month and my initial thoughts were this is a great phone, its not! Battery should be better this is 3300mah but you wouldn't think so. The camera takes some great snaps but outside on a bright day everything is overexposed. It's quite a fast phone but feels a little clumsy and when you're outside good luck seeing that screen it's the worst screen I've had on a phone for use outdoors which is no good for me at all. Indoors the camera is great and the screen is fantastic for watching films etc.. But these are the only plus points for me! One of the worst smart phones I've had (and I've had a lot) I won't be buying another LG anytime soon, so disappointed with this handset the on paper specs just don't stack up!!
