Design and display

Enjoy more screen

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro’s display is huge, measuring 6-inches. In place of the conventional 16:9 ratio, is an 18:9 ratio, which means it’s really long and tall with slimmer bezels and the top and bottom. This way, you get more screen, without having more phone.

Striking design

The smartphone is mainly made of glass, curving on the rear to join up to its metallic border. It’s really slim too, measuring under 8mm.

Camera

Co-engineered by Leica

Camera legends, Leica, have co-created the Huawei Mate 10 Pro’s dual lens camera. At 20MP and 12MP you can expect pin-sharp photography and video in 4K resolution. The neural AI processor also recognises what you are photographing, and automatically switches camera settings for the best images, every time.

High quality selfies

On the front of the smartphone, above the large Full HD display, is an 8MP selfie lens, with a f/2.0 aperture. This means that the lens can open really wide, to draw lots of light into the camera, for better, brighter shots.

Under the hood

Long-lasting battery

You’ll never have any battery worries with the Huawei Mate 10 Pro. The cell capacity is 4,000mAh, which is larger than most other smartphone currently available. You’ll comfortably be able to get through the whole day, and into the night, on a single charge.

Plenty of power

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro has a fast octa-core processor, so it's super responsive whether you're browsing the web or switching between apps. An intuitive Neural-Network Processor Unit has also been added to provide AI, which can do everything from tailoring your experience based on your usage habits, to translating more than 50 languages, instantly.

Amazing gaming

The Huawei Mate 10 is the first smartphone ever to feature a MALI G72 12-Core GPU, an advanced graphics card which makes games and movies look better than ever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Phenomenal Phone! received this product as part of a review program in return for an unbiased review. I have never dared to venture from an ios but this seemed a great opportunity. In summary: Pros: - Unbelievable camera and video quality: if exceptional photos are what you are after, look no further. I was told numerous times the photos looked like those of a professional photographer - Exceptional battery life and charge time: I have not experienced or heard of a phone which charges or lasts as long as this phone. I use a mobile phone all day long either playing videos, listening to music or taking photos or browsing the internet and the battery lasted for days - Screen: very clear and great quality - Speed: everything is processed extremely quickly making it a very efficient phone Extra: using your knuckle to double tap for a screenshot - absolute genious! The number of times I do this a day! Cons: - I do not like the location of the fingerprint scanner or the speed at which you can unlock your phone - I did not like the menu function. Going in an out of gallery, videos, photos and apps could be more efficient Overall, if you are looking for an excellent camera phone with loads of storage and is super quick to charge and insanely quick, this is your phone!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a surprise! It's an amazing device I received this product as part of a review program in return for an unbiased review. What a surprise it was! I have only ever had Samsung or Apple devices and so was a little sceptical about how this little- known (in Europe at least) brand would stack up. In short, it is an amazing phone. One of the best things is the battery life, much longer than both my Samsung and Apple phones. I believe it is technically a “larger” battery but the phone is no larger so I was excited about the prospect of over a full day’s usage. The user interface is great and very intuitive so don’t be put off by the unknown. You’ll be navigating around in minutes. The design of the phone is very good quality, it feels well-built and premium. It’s easy to hold and feels like an expensive bit of kit. The clarity and quality of the screen is very good. It is an OLED screen which is the latest technology (also used by Apple and Samsung as far as I know – but it looked extra clear on this device). It comes with the usual USB-C charger, and fast-charging. A surprise was the case and screen protector included which was a nice touch. The camera quality was as good as the latest devices from Korea and California and had all the usual features you would expect. In conclusion – I was converted. This is a great device and I would thoroughly recommend the Huawei product range to even the most avid tech-enthusiast.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great hardware, shame about the EMUI Software I received this product as part of a review program in return for an unbiased review. Huawei have built a fantastic phone, with many of the features people have been looking for for years. Firstly there’s the huge 4000mAH battery that means it really lasts all day, even if you are on your phone more than you fear is healthy, plus the fast charging that you’d expect to top it up whenever is convenient. Then a camera that really shows what is possible with technology these days to provide great quality pictures in all environments. It has OIS to avoid blurry images from shaky hands, and a second sensor and wider aperture to help let loads of light in, so that your shots are as good on a night out, as they are on a sunny day. In practise this means you can take photos that you are more than happy to share on social media, and print and frame too. Then there’s the design, and while it is a larger phone, with its tiny bezel, it’s still usable by people with normal sized hands. And the size allows for the gorgeous 6” OLED screen which is well worth a slightly bigger handset. Crisp and clear, with great colour balance, it’s a joy to use on a daily basis. The finger print scanner on the rear makes it easier to unlock too, and the included case protects everything, while still looking good. It is missing a 3.5mm headphone jack, which may or may not bother you. Inside the internals are as high-end as one would expect from a modern flagship, and the 128GB of storage means there isn’t any need for an SD card. I didn’t really get to see much benefit from it’s AI chops, but expect I would if I keep using it, as it learns from my usage habits. The only real drawback for me is the EMUI version of Android. It unfortunately makes changes for change sake, and is a worse experience of Android, than stock. Plus duplicate unremovable apps, and it really earns the bloatware label. Despite this, the Mate 10 Pro is a great phone and I’d happily recommend it.
