The 5.2-inch Full HD display won’t let you down, showcasing an array of deep blacks and vivid colours. See all your photos and videos like never before.

Just above the Full HD display there’s a 16MP sensor, promising picture-perfect selfies every time. It also means you can film in Full HD, perfect for high-res video-chatting using apps like Skype and Google’s Duo.

Your landscape and portrait photos will look great with a secondary 16MP camera on the back of the phone. Video quality will be smooth and fluid too, with built in optical image stabilisation.

Under the hood

Your new virtual assistant

Sense Companion is HTC’s virtual assistant. It’s always learning from you and is built to make life that little bit easier. It’ll remind you to grab a brolly if it’s forecast to rain, or it can book a table at a restaurant on your behalf.

Fast charging

On the inside there’s a 2,500mAh battery cell, which supports fast charging. So even if you do find yourself running a bit low, 15 minutes plugged in the wall will give you a significant boost.

HTC U Play is rated 2.4 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Connor from Quite disapointed of how it turned out I have owned this phone since March 2017 and there are some problems that have developed over time with this phone. One major problem I have is that the battery life is quite poor and It needs charging at least 3 times a day. As I tend to use my phone quite often, charging it is satisfactory due to it loosing funcionallity like the touch screen while on charge. The features that are good on this phone are the camera and the speakers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Decent mid range phone This is a great mid range phone. Those saying that this isn't up to the standards of the HTC 10 etc don't get that this is a mid range phone not a flagship. I got mine at a great price of c£20p/m and it is a very capable phone. Very happy with it,.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Hugely overpriced for what it is The first thing that stunned me was the lack of a headphone port. That HTC have taken that route is ridiculous. The phone itself isn't great considering the premium price; very poor response from the camera, poor battery life. I've stuck with HTC for my last 5 phones, but they just lost me. Swapped it the next day for an Xperia ZX.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Riley80 from Poor battery and false marketing Battery is poor for flagship, and octacore is marketing only, only 4 will be active a high power usage set or a low power set with much lower performance... a downgrade from the m9 shouldn't be the flagship....
