The HONOR View20 phone made waves (the light kind, not the water kind) in London with a never-before-seen projection show.
If you were out and about in the capital on 15 February 2019, you might have spotted an amazing visual display adorning the facades of some of London’s most iconic locations.
Were you at Shoreditch High Street station to catch one of our spectacular projections? Did you sneak a peek near Blackfriars Bridge and the lights dancing nearby? Or, did you miss the lot, including the unique grand viewing at the Tate Modern?
See it all below.
Let’s start with the pièce de résistance – the HONOR View20 phone projected onto the famous Tate Modern chimney.
While serious art was going on inside the gallery, we had our very own form of art happening right outside.
Architect Giles Gilbert Scott was the powerhouse behind this iconic brick chimney, created in the early 1950s.
Fast-forward to current day and the colours and patterns of our optical-illusions-inspired projection gave new life to this arty London institution.
Our projection clearly loves the art scene, because the next stop is the eclectic, creative area of Shoreditch.
If you were up at Boxpark on Friday night, you might’ve glimpsed a visual display adorning the outside wall of Shoreditch High Street station.
Battling it out with the graffiti on Bethnal Green Road opposite us, our projection inspired quite a few heads craning to ‘see the unseen’.
Also on our list was Blackfriars Station, situated close to the red-pillared beauty that is Blackfriars Bridge.
The third bridge built in central London (after London Bridge and Westminster Bridge), Blackfriars was opened in 1769 and redesigned by Joseph Cubitt in 1869 for the modern look we see today.
Our optical illusions brought a puzzle to the late-night revellers at Blackfriars.
Now for the real action.
Watch this behind-the-scenes video for an inside look into our projection creation.
Join us for a recap of the night – and follow us from location to location – as we give some of London’s most iconic places a splash of coloured light (just for the night, of course). Can you spot yourself in the video below?
All this was brought to you by Carphone Warehouse and the HONOR View20 smartphone.
This new phone brings a host of amazing features – including several “World Firsts”.
The HONOR View20 is the world’s first smartphone with a nanotexture, light-reflective back design (available in three colours) and the Kirin 980 chipset (the world’s first super-smart 7 nanometre chipset).
But the phone’s biggest wins are its 48MP AI ultra-clarity main rear camera – another world first – and slew of AI capabilities including AI-enhanced Image Stabilisation. All combine to give you clearer pictures, taken better.
