Design and display

High definition screen

The Sony Xperia XA1 is fronted by a 5-inch HD display, stretching right up to the rounded edges of the handset.

It’s bright and clear showing off every detail of your photos and videos, and makes for the perfect handheld movie theatre when using the likes of Netflix or Amazon Prime.

Premium design

The XA1’s compact design makes it simple to hold and use in just one hand, and it’ll fit nicely in your pocket.

Camera

Seriously impressive sensor

A 23MP camera is on board to make sure can always get the best photos and videos. And with a large f/2.0 aperture, letting in loads of light, getting great shots at night is a breeze too.

Perfect selfies

The 23mm wide-angle front-facing lens lets you get the whole gang in the frame. And at 8MP, all your photos will look pin sharp.

Under the hood

Smooth user experience

The XA1 has an octa-core processor on the inside, which will make sure you won’t be slowed down while using big mobile games or streaming films online. It’s backed up by 3GB RAM, and there’s 32GB of internal storage as standard.

Smart battery

A 2,300mAh battery will keep you powered up all day long, but if you do find yourself nearing the red, you can turn on Sony’s STAMINA Mode. It limits some of the more power-hungry parts of the XA1, to keep you going for longer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor touch screen This is the second awful phone I've owned made by Sony. The touchscreen is so poor you can barely text on it. The downswipe stopped working after 2 months. Don't buy it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My Experience with XA1 So,I got this phone from Carphone warehouse in January, I tried to reduce battery life and do all sort as I thought was right. this is October, well, the battery is now weak, takes forever to load which frustrate me like crazy, Now its difficult to use and charge. I won't lie, I think the phone has served its purpose why??? I bought it because of the camera and honestly, I am very impressed with the quality, it was way more than the price I bought it (about 220 in the new year) Well, I won't say its a long lasting phone, but it is good. It is up to you to buy it or not. I am rating based on my experience.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from By far the worst 4 phones I've ever had. I bought one a year ago. The digitiser went within about 4 months and I couldn't use P or Q or the DDM. Sent it back on warranty. Got sent a brand new one. Only this one, the digitiser went within 1 month. So sent that one back on warranty. Then the final one, which I got two months ago after being sent yet another brand new phone (obviously this is a problem they cannot fix) this one decided to crash every three seconds and the only way you can turn it back on is by plugging it into a charger. Which is totally ridiculous. Was refused a refund, but was instead told to buy it out so I could upgrade it to a different phone. Chose the Huawei P20 and couldn't reccomend it enough. But still had to pay in full for a phone that is obviously NOT fit for purpose. Will be taking this up with the head of CW and Sony so I can get my money back for the worlds worst phone. Will never buy another Sony again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mind your Ps and Qs After about 6 months of use the edge of the screen lost its functionality and now I can’t drag down from top to view notifications or type the letters P and Q.
