Design and display

Setting the tone

Just like last year’s edition, the 2018 Nokia 6 is crafted out of a single block of aluminium. But now, all of the diamond-cut edges have been anodised in a different colour tone. Resulting in the phone having this cool shimmery effect when it catches the light.

Rich display

Whether you’re having a browse or catching up on your new Netflix obsession, the sharp 5.5-inch LCD screen will make everything look crisp and clear.

Getting flashy

Every moment will be captured in perfect clarity, thanks to the Nokia 6’s 16MP shooter with dual-tone flash – which gives your photos a more natural feel in low-light settings. It also comes with ZEISS optics, so you know it will deliver incredible snaps.

Picture-perfect selfies

On the front of the smartphone is an 8MP lens to make sure you get pin-sharp selfies. It has autofocus, too, so if you need a quick snap of the gang, it’ll always look awesome.

Under the hood

Featuring Android One

Android One brings the latest AI powered innovation and security protection to the new Nokia 6. It guarantees you get the best version of Android, for a completely streamlined and secure experience. It makes apps run smoother, navigation easier, and customising a walk in the park.

All the power you need

The Nokia 6 is packing Snapdragon 630 and 4G of RAM, so you can expect bucket-loads of power. All of your apps will load in lightening-quick speed – giving you more of what you love, uninterrupted.

More sound, less noise

The smartphone features Nokia spatial audio, so you can pump out all of your favourite jams in amazing clarity. Plus, it records audio with two microphones for high-fidelity sound in every clip you shoot.

Nokia 6 2018 is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but flawed... If you get a good one this is a great phone. Both me and my wife have one, but there are issues. We both had to exchange the first ones we had due to dead pixels on the display, so I'd check it carefully as quality control may not be that great. The issue with the handset not finding updates has occurred on one of them too. It was finding updates up till June's security patch, then nothing. However the other one found July's one fine. Most people with this issue are on EE, we are on Giffgaff (O2) As I can say is, if you get a good one its great. These new Nokia's are the only handsets outside of Google's own where you will get totally clean up to date Android. Oh, and its built like a tank too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good phone. Updates working now on O2 Was a bit nervous buying this, given previous reviews. But the design (rugged aluminium build, 16:9 screen, ongoing Android One security patches) really appealed to me, so I took a chance. Note that I'm more of a business user - not a social media addict or selfie fan - and my phone is on O2. Well, I couldn't be happier. As an upgrade from my trusty LG G3, this ticks all the boxes for me. Nice clear screen, snappy performance, excellent call quality and reliable Bluetooth. The fingerprint scanner works great, consistently unlocking the phone in a fraction of a second. At the time of writing Android One has automatically updated 3 times to the July-18 security patch, so absolutely no complaints there either. Battery life is fine, I've never dropped below 40% at the end of a day with moderate use. Downsides - camera is a fairly basic snapper, and 11GB of the 32GB memory is chewed up by system files (so if you're an app-addict, you may fill up quickly). But for my needs, neither of these is important. Oh, this phone also proudly sports substantial bezels, which apparently can upset some people. Not me - I like having space to grip the phone. Bottom line, I'd happily recommend this phone to my friends. But perhaps not to my teenage daughter.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worst fingerprint recognition ever! I'm 5 day's into owning a Nokia 6 and already I can see this isn't going to be a long and happy relationship. Battery life is ok but only just gets me through the day, once the battery is a bit older I think I might struggle. Definitely the worst thing is the fingerprint recognition, I will be polite and say "it sucks"! If that's the best Nokia can do with that feature then I suggest they remove it and not bother.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from No updates if you're on EE If you have an EE sim (or any network that uses EE) then this phone does not receive any over the air updates. Nokia have thus far ignored all the people trying to get help for this on their community forum. If this gets rectified the phone is great value, but keep this in mind before you buy.
