Design and display

Big screen doesn’t equal big phone

LG has managed to create a large mobile screen, without increasing the size of its flagship smartphone. With minimal bezels and a new aspect ratio of 18:9, the G6 gives you the big phone experience, without the inconvenience of a supersized device.

Stunning build

The G6 is actually slighter smaller than its predecessor, the G5, despite the jump in screen size. And to make sure it stays out of harm’s way, it’s built using Gorilla Glass 5.

Super wide-angle photos

Getting everyone in the frame is simple with the G6’s dual lens 13MP camera. At 125-degrees, the camera can see the same width as the human eye – perfect for a sweeping panorama.

Gesture shot

Capturing the perfect selfie isn’t always easy, but the LG G6’s 5MP front-facing lens and gesture shot setting, it’s a piece of cake. Just hold an open palm towards the lens, and then make a fist to trigger a countdown timer.

Under the hood

Power and reliability

A Snapdragon 820 processor is in charge of running the smartphone, joined by 4GB RAM, taking care of multitasking - providing a smooth experience all round. There’s also a beefy 3,300mAh battery cell, which can be powered up in a flash using the USB Type-C fast charging technology.

Protected against the elements

The LG G6 is protected against water and dust, with an IP68 rating. This means it can be safely submerged in 1.5m of fresh water for up to 30 minutes, and it’s safely sealed from dust.

LG G6 is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pixel on a budget In year 1 of my 2 year contract with this phone. It still runs fairly quickly compared to other androids I've had. Screen has never smashed after dropping (unlike iPhone) and it's versatile. The camera settings can be confusing and the quality of the camera seems to have deteriorated or something. Front facing photos are blurry and back camera photos aren't that good quality either... The focus for things close up is non existent. But yeah, nicely designed, big screen, nice button placement. Due to the things it lacks I will be considering a Hauwei for my next phone for the better camera and higher storage capacity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Quality I bought this phone last year and still runs smoothly without any lags

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible phone Bought the phone just after it came out and regretted shortly thereafter. Battery life is awful. Screen frequently freezes and the processor is glitchy, can't even cope with simple games. The audio jack rarely works (fine with headphones but doens't work with the cable in my car) and whilst rear camera photos are adequate, front camer photos are awful. All in all the worst phone I have EVER had and could't wait to switch back to a Samsung.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value, solid performer Upgraded my old G3s 4 months ago to G6 (from CPW - Paignton) after much deliberation/research. Paid £379.99 in a Black Friday type deal which made this phone good value for the spec. 4 months use has shown it to be a fast, well built, capable performer. I'm a very light user and can get nearly four days out of the battery! Two flaws, hence 4 stars, the biggest one being the loss of signal from time to time (even at home with a Vodafone SureSignal booster). Phone sits in a loop trying to find signal, nuking the battery. Latest update (Nov '17) doesn't fix problem. Only 'work around' is to turn on Airplane Mode and then turn off again. This refreshes signal reception and all good. Irritating and clearly a firmware bug. 2nd niggle, ring volume is too low and has to be cranked up to near max to be audible. Otherwise, excellent phone. Good investment was a screen protector & Spigen case.
