iPhone will lock itself to the network of the first SIM card that is used in the phone. Subsequently attempting to use it on any other network, for example by replacing the SIM card, may mean it becomes permanently unusable. Rated 1 out of 5 by UnhappyBunny from Not sure I'd have an iPhone again Got the 5s couple of months back, and I still don't like it. Everyone says I said that about my last phone and that I'll get used to it but I'm not convinced. I, like some other reviewers, am in my 50s, I've done all the techs stuff with computers at work and now want something easy. I had a windows phone before and thought it was brilliant, didn't have a compass (which an upgrade probably would!) and there were specific apps I wanted that were only available for iPhone, not even android. All in all, being past the age of wanting lots of snazzy apps, downloading shed loads of music and playing games, I'm thinking I may go back to windows again next time. Most of the features and just general use really, are easier on the windows phone as are calendar, reminders and alarms. In fact, I'm still using my old phone, rather defeats object of getting new. The number of apps I've actually downloaded is minimal and I only got because I could rather than because I wanted them. The ones I did want, I got one and it's not that great, the other was either £5 or £6 so chose not to get it anyway. Couple of apps I used on the old windows phone, a lot!, aren't available for iPhone, so all in all a bad deal really - not a happy bunny!!! Oh! and the screen is tiny by comparison too!

Rated 1 out of 5 by vbigfish from SIM free = Locked! I bought online and chose the 'SIM free' option. I naturally assumed this meant unlocked. I had already been to a CPW shop, though I ended up buying a Moto G (SIM free). I brought both to Brasil and my Moto G works fine. The Iphone says it is blocked and only the operator can unblock it. No I've gone back to the site and looked at the very small print, and it says that it can only be used with a UK Sim! Why? And you have to click through the links until you find this. In fact you would have to be suspicious of the CPW language to not click on the 'add to basket' link, directly next to the price, and to actually actively search for small print to find out that they don't actually mean it is unlocked. It strikes me that a phone is either locked or unlocked. If it is locked (locked to a specific operator, or to a specific country) it should be made very, very clear. Calling it 'SIM free' is dishonest!
