I have Lifeline or Geek Squad insurance


  1. So your phone can't be used by anyone else, call your network provider within 24 hours of it going missing. Ask for your phone's IMEI number if you don't know it because you'll need it to make your claim
  2. Report your loss to the police and get a crime reference number or lost reference number. You need to do this within 48 hours of your phone going missing
  3. You'll need to give the police your phone's IMEI, details of where it was lost and, if possible, the phone number of the place where you lost it
If for any reason you cannot get a crime reference or lost reference number from the police, make sure you get the name of the officer you reported the loss to, their badge number and the police station's telephone number. If you can report the loss to another authority then please do this as well.

Make your insurance claim. You can do this in three ways:

  • Make a claim online. Lifeline customers should click here, Geek Squad customers should click here
  • Visit any Carphone Warehouse store
  • Call us on 0870 111 7000 (Lifeline customers) or 0800 049 3049 (Geek Squad customers). If you're phoning from abroad call 0044 208 617 5787 (all customers).

When you make a claim, we'll need your name, date of birth, address and the policy number shown on your certificate of insurance, so please make sure you have these ready.



I don't have Geek Squad or Lifeline insurance

  1. Call your network provider to bar your handset so calls and texts can't be made from it
