What is my customer PIN?


If you're an O2 customer (billed by Carphone Warehouse) or a Talkmobile customer, you can use your PIN when you call us. Your PIN gives you fast, secure access to your account.

Here's how it works


Every time you call us, use your PIN so we can fast-track your call and help you right away. Without it, we have to take you the long way round and ask security questions first.

How to create your customer PIN


  • The first time you call us, we'll ask you to enter your default PIN. This is the last two digits of your sort code and the last two digits of your mobile number. So if your sort code is 65 43 21 and your mobile number is 07777 123456, your PIN is 2156.
  • Enter your bank account number, for security purposes.(O2 CPW customers only)
  • Enter a four-digit PIN to change the default PIN to one you'll easily remember

More about your PIN


  • We comply with the Data Protection Act 1998 and place great importance on protecting your personal information. Your PIN is a great way to keep your account secure, while giving you fast access too. You can share your PIN with friends and family. But remember that anyone who knows your PIN can access your account and make changes to it. You're responsible for any changes made to your account using the correct PIN*.
  • You can use your PIN from any phone - mobile or landline.
  • If you forget your PIN, no problem. We'll tell you what it is after asking a few security questions.
  • If you don't have a direct debit, you can set up your PIN after answering a few security questions first.

Other things you can do with your PIN?


If you're an O2 customer you can call 0870 111 7200 and access our automated phone service using your PIN. You'll be able to:
  • Check how many minutes or texts you have left
  • Find out your balance
  • Request a copy of your bill
  • Make a payment
  • Reset your PIN

* Please be aware that it is your responsibility to keep the PIN secret. If you give a third party access to your account with the PIN they are able to make changes to the account. Carphone Warehouse cannot be held responsible for any changes made when the third party in question has supplied a correct PIN. If you believe the PIN is being used in an unauthorised manner it’s easy to change your PIN using our automated service or by speaking to a Customer Services Advisor - simply contact O2 Customer Services on 0870 111 7200 or Talkmobile Customer Services on 0870 071 5888.
