Orange mobile phone with free broadband

Orange mobile phone with free broadband

What's a MAC code and why do I need one?

MAC stands for Migration Authorisation Code. It's a unique code that identifies your broadband connection and allows you to transfer from one internet provider to another.

If you already have a home broadband connection you'll need to get a MAC before Orange can connect you to the internet.

What do I need to do?

  1. Contact your current provider and ask for a MAC - they have to give you one for free once you've paid any outstanding bills
  2. Call Orange on 0800 079 0283 and tell them what your MAC is!

When will I be connected?

You mobile phone:
Your mobile phone will be connected within 24 hours of you receiving your handset.
  • If you buy online or over the phone we'll usually deliver your handset the next working day.
  • If you buy in store we'll give you your phone there and then (as long as it's in stock).
  • If a store doesn't have your phone in stock we'll usually deliver it on the next working day.

Your broadband connection:
Once Orange have your MAC code they'll begin activating your broadband connection. This usually happens within 14 days of you signing up.

Your home phone line:
If you're a Starter or Max customer your home phone line will be switched to Orange about 10 days after they connect you to the internet.
