Sony Xperia™ Z1 Compact.

The Sony Xperia™ Z1 Compact is a new class of smartphone. It packs high end features into a pocket sized body to create a portable powerhouse.

The essential tech specs.

With a 2,300mAh battery, the Sony Xperia™ Z1 Compact will happily run all day. You can get up to 600 hours of standby time, or up to 18 hours of talk time. It's powered by a 2.2GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean so it's incredibly fast. The Z1 Compact has a 4.3" HD display that has a sharp pixel density of 342 pixels per inch and is powered by Sony's TRILUMINOS™ and X-Reality technologies. There's a 20.7MP camera and you'll also get 16GB of internal storage, which is expandable by up to 64GB with a microSD card.

Better, not bigger.

The Sony Xperia™ Z1 Compact takes everything that makes the Xperia™ Z1 great and squeezes it into a smaller body. It has a super-fast quad core processor that'll keep all your apps and games running smoothly. There's also a superb 20.7MP camera with innovative software that helps you take great photos every time. And now this impressive hardware has been put into a phone that easily fits into the palm of your hand or your pocket.

Incredible battery life.

Smartphones use a lot of power, even when you're not actively using them. Battery STAMINA Mode saves your Xperia™ Z1 Compact from wasting precious energy. It recognises when you're not using your display and automatically turns off the things you don't need, while keeping the notifications you want. As soon as you wake up your screen, everything is up and running again. So not only do you have a sizeable 2,300mAh battery, Battery STAMINA Mode helps you cleverly maximise every bit of that energy.

Take superb photos.

The Sony Xperia™ Z1 Compact has the best camera in a smartphone of its size. That's because Sony gave it a huge 20.7MP Exmor RS™ for Mobile image sensor, which on its own makes it one of the best camera phones available. But Sony threw all of its digital camera knowledge at the Xperia™ Z1, giving it a Sony G Lens for brighter, sharper photos. All that technology adds up to a small smartphone that's capable of taking digital camera quality photos.

Beautiful and durable design.

You can even use the Sony Xperia™ Z1 Compact's impressive camera under water as it's been given IP55 and IP58 certification. That means it's dust resistant and waterproof. In fact, IP58 is the highest rating for protection against water so it'll survive being submerged in up to 1.5 metres of fresh water for half an hour. The Z1 should survive a few knocks too. Both the front and back panels are made from durable tempered glass, coated with an anti-scratch film, while the frame is made from aluminium for even more strength.
