Finnish mobile firm Nokia has opened up about its next flip phone planned for release with T-Mobile. The Nokia 7510, or Supernova, has been spotted on websites - including Nokia's official site - with T-Mobile branding - despite the global network provider not confirming the addition yet.

From the offset, the Supernova commands attention, with its stylish looks and unique push-to-open side key, a button that allows users to snap the phone open quickly and with ease. On the inside, the device totes a 2.2" QVGA screen, which will display up to 16.7 million colours.

Users can view photographs taken on the 2 megapixel camera in high resolution and also utilise the 4x digital zoom and LED flash for that perfect picture. The phone's internal memory can also be expanded to 8GB via the microSD card slot. The Supernova also boasts Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, XHTML browsing, WAP 2.0, OMA DRM version 2.0 and OSS internet browser.

Its battery supports six hours of talk time and up to 300 hours of standby. Harking back to the Nokia of old, where users could purchase phone fascias to switch the colour casing of their devices, the Supernova will appear in a wide range of colours - including aquamarine, brown and red.

The device could be perfect for Nokia to continue its assault on the market, where the Finnish firm has the majority of shares. At the beginning of a new year, many mobile makers are focussing on fresh products and services to bring in and keep new customers - Motorola has recently announced three new phones designed to cater to three different types of consumer - so last year's battle is not over yet.
