Increasing the size of Live Tiles gives you more detailed information, and just click a Tile to open the app. Personalising is easy - you can change the colours, move them around freely, and even create Live Tiles for individual or group contacts, getting updates from their Facebook™ and latest texts, plus it'll cycle through photos too. With full Microsoft Office 365 built-in, it's the perfect device to support remote working too.
Advanced 8MP camera
The Nokia Lumia 820 is a great phone for photos. The 8MP camera combines with a Carl Zeiss lens to give you sharp and bright images over a wide range of lighting conditions, but there's also smart technology to help you out. The Smart Shoot mode means you'll always get a good shot of your friends and groups. In Smart Shoot the Lumia 820 takes five shots in quick succession, and then you're free to pick your favourite, swap people's faces from another of the five photographs, and even delete parts of the photograph that shouldn't be there. You'll get a great shot without problems like blinking or friends smiling in the wrong shot.
Do more with your camera with Nokia City Lens
And there's more you can do with your Lumia 820's camera. Open up the Nokia City Lens app and you'll have an information packed digital overlay on your camera's viewfinder. This means you can see information about nearby restaurants, shops, attractions and more. Information includes directions and reviews, and because the data appears layered over the real world, you can see all the hidden delights around you instantly.
Ultra accurate mapping with free turn-by-turn navigation
Mapping is taken care of by Nokia Maps, a clear, accurate mapping app that is widely seen as one of the most powerful maps packages around. Maps are all free cover almost every country in the world. Need a map available offline so you don't need to use up your data? Just download a map for anywhere and you'll have super accurate mapping on the go. With Nokia Drive you can utilise your Lumia 820 as a Sat Nav, complete with free turn-by-turn voice navigation, speed camera warnings and traffic alerts.
Free music, with Nokia Mix Radio
If you're into music, Nokia Mix Radio will fast become a favourite. It allows you to play playlists across loads of genres for free - everything from blues and grunge to pop and dubstep. With around 50 songs in each playlist, there's a huge collection of songs, and to make them available offline, just download a playlist. There's also the option to create your own playlists. Just search an artist, and Nokia Mix Radio will find songs from your artist, plus songs from similar artists. You can merge up to three artists in your searches, and the app will blend songs from all three, plus other tracks from the same genre. You'll have new music on tap whenever you want.

As a 4G ready phone, Nokia Lumia 820 is compatible with the new, faster networks in the UK that are beginning to be rolled out.
