US mobile phone manufacturer, Motorola, has announced three new handsets that could see the company’s flagging sales enjoying a boost.
Motorola rang in the new year with the release of new images showing off its upcoming offerings - including a new flip phone and a carbon offset, 100 per cent recylable device. The Tundra VA76r is a 3G handset created from military-strength casing. Beneath its flip phone exterior comes a range of features aimed at those looking for a device that is simple and quick to use.
It has "Push-to-talk "for quick calls, as well as a Navigator feature for outdoors adventurers to ensure they stay on track. The MOTORSURF™ A3100 is a 2.8 inch touchscreen device that could come aimed as a competitor for Apple’s popular iPhone. With Windows Mobile 6.1, a GPS and 360 degree trackball for easy navigation, this handset is bound to please anybody looking for an Apple alternative.
Finally, an impressive addition to the range of eco-phones pioneered by companies such as Nokia is the Moto Renew. This environmentally-friendly handset is green both in its casing and its manufacture. Not only is Motorola offsetting the carbon footprint of every device through an alliance with CarbonFund, but according to a press release, “plastic housing of MOTO W233 is 100 percent recyclable and made from plastics comprised of recycled water bottles, and the packaging was also created with the environment in mind.”
The new devices, each catering to a different sector of the mobile phone market, are aimed for a quick release – with the VA76r and the A3100 both slated to be seen in stores in the next few weeks.
