Canadian company Research in Motion has been working hard to create the ultimate BlackBerry - and it appears to be doing so by taking all of the best elements of previous models and combining them into one handset.

The BlackBerry Curve 8900 - codenamed BlackBerry Javelin - will launch with T-Mobile on February 11, one week before the previous release date. It combines the BlackBerry Curve's separated keyboard with the BlackBerry Bold's 2.4 inch, 360x480 high resolution screen.

Additionally, the 3.2 megapixel camera present in the BlackBerry Storm will also appear as part of the handset. Running the latest BlackBerry operating system, the Javelin offers up WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth and EDGE wireless data, meaning users can stay connected at all times.

It integrates business features such as email, calendar, messaging and document viewing and editing into a seamless system with the same functionality that has made the BlackBerry a business fundamental in recent years.

The high-end handset is the latest in a string of anticipated phones to come from manufacturer Research in Motion.

The devices have ensured RIM's placement in the top three US manufacturers, a position it shares with Finnish firm Nokia and iPhone creator Apple. 2008 saw the firms fighting it out for a bigger chunk of market share, with Nokia maintaining its global lead easily.

This left RIM and Apple to fight it out for the second spot on the list, with Apple's 3G iPhone helping the company storm the sales department, selling 1 million devices in just three days.
