Apple's popular iPhone model and the LG KC910 are the most popular touch screen handsets with Reevoo.com shoppers, a new survey has revealed.

Reevoo.com, an online product comparison site, asked 19,000 mobile phone users to review 226 mobile phone devices as part of the study. Nokia's 5220 XpressMusic handset - a mid-range device with a conventional keypad - emerged at the top, with 8.8 out of 10 points.

Other high-ranking phones included the Nokia E71 and the Sony Ericsson W595, but the iPhone and the LG KC910 were the only touchscreen models to make the top ten. Conversely, five of the ten least popular phones according to Reevoo.com users were touchscreen handsets, with the HTC Touch Diamond ranking worst.

Jo Reale, mobile phone category manager for Reevoo.com, said: "Manufacturers are keen to jump on the touchscreen bandwagon but most of the current efforts are just not pushing the right buttons for shoppers. "We love the look of touchscreen phones, and the ability to watch videos on a large screen, but touchscreen phones are hard to get right and many shoppers are complaining that the interfaces are just too fiddly."

Reevoo.com reviewers that were part of the survey said that style was the most important factor when choosing a mobile phone. The size of the handset came in second, followed by camera features and music capabilities. The study comes just as this year's Mobile World Congress is wrapping up in Barcelona, where many leading mobile phone makers have just announced a slew of new touchscreen phones for 2009 - including the HTC Magic (the second Android handset), LG GD910 wristwatch device and Samsung's Blue Earth, a groundbreaking touch-screen solar powered mobile phone.
