Photo of upcoming LG G3 leaks

April 15, 2014

A photo of the rumoured LG G3 has leaked online, showing the phone’s incredible Quad HD screen.

Along with the impressive screen, the picture hints that LG’s next flagship will have a Snapdragon 801 processor like the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Other rumours have said the phone’s screen will measure 5.5” and it’ll keep a similar design to the LG G2, with the power and volume buttons on the back.

LG G3 could have a 5.5” Quad HD screen

March 17, 2014

A new rumour is suggesting that LG’s upcoming G3 flagship could have a massive 5.5” screen with an incredibly sharp Quad HD resolution.

If the rumour turns out to be true, LG would be the first major manufacturer to move up to this insanely clear resolution and, in theory, would have the sharpest screen on the market at 534 pixels per inch (PPI).

The rumours also says the LG G3 will have ‘advanced customisation’, which is a phrase that’s been used in the past for Easy Mode on Android phones. But we’re hoping it’s more exciting than that as it’s said to adapt to your habits and needs.

Will the next LG G3 be waterproof and dustproof?

March 10, 2014

With the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia™ Z2 and their abilities to withstand water, it may come as no surprise that LG is looking to protect its new flagship too.

The report comes out of Korea and although now it is speculation, it would make perfect sense. To compete with other phones, companies might well have to focus on making the phones waterproof.

LG G3 might be released as early as May

In 2013, LG released its flagship LG G2 in September so we’d expect an LG G3 to arrive around the same time in 2014. But the latest rumours suggest it could come a lot earlier, perhaps as soon as May.

The new rumour also tips the phone as having a Quad HD screen resolution, while earlier rumours have said the screen could be as big as 5.5”.

Underneath the spectacular screen is thought to be LG’s homemade octa core processor, the LG Odin, which can run at up to 2.2GHz.

LG G2 has two new colour options for Chinese New Year

January 16, 2014

LG has announced it will offer its flagship G2 smartphone in red and gold for Chinese New Year.

The two new colours have textured backs, rather than the smooth, glossy ones of the original white and black. They’re also quite subtle shades of red and gold so the LG G2 still looks classy.

At the moment the new colours are only confirmed for release in China and Singapore but we can hope for a wider rollout after Chinese New Year.

LG G3 could have a sapphire home button

December 30, 2013

LG could give its next flagship, unofficially named G3, a sapphire home button according to the latest rumours.

This could mean the phone has a fingerprint scanner in the home button, like the iPhone 5s. Sapphire's good for fingerprint scanners as it's one of the most scratch resistant materials around.

The new scanner might be on the back of the phone, like on the HTC One max, as that's where all the buttons are on the LG G2. But it might only need the user to press the button rather than swipe their finger over it.

The rumour says a similar button might be found on the rumoured HTC One Two.
