HTC One (M8) Plus and One (M8) Advance rumoured

May 29, 2014

A new rumour says HTC is planning two variants of its new One (M8) smartphone – a super-powered M8 Plus and a plastic M8 Advance.

Both versions are meant to have higher specs than the original One (M8) thanks to Quad HD screens and Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 805 processor. They’ll also apparently do away with the Duo Camera and have a 13MP one with optical image stabilisation.

The only reported difference in the two new phones is that the Advance is meant to be made of plastic while the Plus should keep the original metal design.

May 06, 2014

The first photo of what is claimed to be the HTC One mini 2, a small version of the new One (M8), has been posted online.

The photo shows that the mini phone will only have one rear camera – the One (M8) has a unique Duo Camera – but will keep the same smooth, aluminium design.

One big difference between the One mini 2 and the One (M8) is that the plastic strips that cover the antennae are coloured. In this photo they’re yellow.

HTC One (M8) Mini might be launched as the HTC One mini 2

May 02, 2014

HTC is rumoured to be dropping (M8) from its mini version of this year’s flagship phone, preferring to brand it as the second HTC One mini.

While the change in naming convention might seem confusing, it could hint that this year’s mini phone won’t have all the features of the One (M8). For example, we’ve already heard rumours that the mini will have a 13MP camera instead of the 4MP UltraPixel Duo Camera.

HTC has launched the new HTC One (M8)

March 26, 2014

HTC finally launched its new flagship phone, the One (M8), at a major event in London yesterday, with sales starting immediately at Carphone Warehouse.

The new phone is what the rumours suggested it would be. A combination of stunning design and high end hardware that create a truly top of the line handset.

But there were some surprises. An Extreme Power Saving mode is said to make the battery last two weeks on a single charge and a partnership with FitBit means the One (M8) can track your fitness.

And as the phone was put on sale immediately, HTC has managed to beat its main rivals, the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia Z2, to market.

HTC One (M8) specs and price leak ahead of official announcement

March 25, 2014

The excitement surrounding the launch of the new HTC One (M8) seems to have got too much in Canada, as one of the country’s networks has posted a complete specs list and pricing online 12 hours early.

The leak confirms that the new phone will have a 5” Full HD screen, a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801processor and even a microSD card slot.

In Canada, the phone will cost $230 (£125) when you sign up to a two year contract or $650 (£350) SIM free. It’s hard to say how those prices will translate in the UK, though, as contracts work slightly different here.

We’ll find out more later today when HTC announces the One (M8) in London.

More specs leak for the All New HTC One

March 12, 2014

March 10, 2014

We've seen covers with windows in the front since the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, but HTC seems to have gone a different direction with its new cases for the new HTC One.

Instead of a window, if these leaked photos are accurate, there will be a mesh on the front cover that goes over the screen, allowing enough light to get through for you to still see the screen.

HTC One Two, M8, photo leaks

HTC One+ to get larger screen and dual sensor camera

HTC One Two, or M8, might actually be HTC One+

HTC One Two could have a sapphire home button
