Motorola announces Moto X for UK

Jan 14, 2014

Motorola’s flagship smartphone will finally make it to the UK at the end of this month after the Google-owned manufacturer announced the European rollout of Moto X.

The phone’s been designed to be as easy to use as possible. So Motorola gave it always listening voice control, which lets you speak commands to it even when the phone’s locked. So if you’re driving, you can make a call without having to take your hands of the wheel.

There’s also a cool way to launch the camera. Just twist your wrist twice and you’re ready to take a photo. It’s the fastest way we’ve seen to open the camera app on any phone.

Its final unique feature is called Active Display. When you lock the screen, white text slowly pulses on the screen, giving you the time and any notifications, which you can then open right from the lock screen. And it doesn’t drain your battery as the Moto X has an AMOLED screen, so the only pixels that get lit are the ones showing the text.
