Once the program is installed, open it and connect your BlackBerry to the computer using the USB cable.
If this is the first time you've used BlackBerry Link you may be asked to confirm your computer's name and your preferred music source. As we're only going to be moving information from the BlackBerry and not to it, we can ignore this step. Press Next to continue.
On the next page you will be asked to sign in using your BlackBerry ID and password. This is the email address and password you use to download apps on your BlackBerry. Fill in the details and press Sign in.
We can now give your phone a name and start using the device to carry on backing up your data.
You will now see the summary page for your BlackBerry, detailing the amount of internal storage taken up with pictures, music and other media as well as the date of your last backup and the version of the software your BlackBerry is currently using. Down the left hand column you will see options for other areas of the BlackBerry Link software. Click on Back Up & Restore to continue.
Here we have your backup options. Make sure that Full Backup is selected under Backup Type and press Back Up Device to begin the process.
Once your backup is complete you will see a confirmation message in the bottom-left corner of the BlackBerry Link program.
